 Transit visa for Japan, or Visa Short Stay:

 
 You can stay in Japan without a visa. However, we wish to draw your attention to the fact that the maximum stay allowed varies by country and ask you to pay particular attention to when purchasing your tickets.
 
 
Authorized maximum stay of 90 days (except for Bruneians) will be granted upon arrival. Persons whose nationality can stay beyond this limit, wishing to extend their stay will, once on site, obtain an extension of a residence permit or a renewal of the authorization from the immigration office.
The Embassy does not, however, make sure you obtain this extension.
However, it is necessary to benefit from this exemption temporary visa to take into consideration the following points:
          1. You may not engage in any gainful activity in Japan.
          2. Your passport (non-biometric accepted) must be valid (valid at the date of your return).
          3. You must be in possession of return tickets to Japan when entering the territory.
          4. Length of stay on site must not exceed the limit allowed by your nationality.

            visits to family and friends
            business trips (negotiations, market research, professional meetings, etc.)
            unpaid internships
            study tours
            the visit-inspections and participation in seminars and conferences
            the amateur contests
            passing entrance exams to university
            the steps to take to a wedding in Japan
